The problem
The Indo-German Green Skills Programme, backed by the German and Indian governments, was getting girls and young women in West Bengal into green-skills training. That work needed to be documented properly, and the girls it was meant for needed to be heard in their own voices, not only counted in a report.
In the field
I shot live at the sessions in girls' schools and ITIs, from Banipur to Howrah. Back at the desk I analysed the programme data for the final report and turned it into visuals: charts for the internal teams, illustrations for the stories, and content for social media.
- Live shoots at sessions in girls' schools and ITIs, including Banipur, Howrah Homes and the Women's ITI in Kolkata
- Analysed the programme data for the final report
- Made social media content, data visuals for internal teams and storytelling illustrations
- Worked with ITIs and local administration on more inclusive enrolment
What I made
Reels from each session, like the three below; data visualisations for GIZ's internal teams and the final report; storytelling illustrations; and the posts the partners shared on LinkedIn.
What changed
The programme's outcomes were shown properly and reached the people who needed to see them. The initiative also became much more public and better recognised.
- Informed state-level technical training guidelines in West Bengal
Evidence
A solar entrepreneur shares her story with students at Banipur ITI and Banipur Baniniketan Girls' school.

Reflection
I learned to balance several disciplines at once, to talk with everyone from students to policy teams, and to get results with very few resources in remote places and difficult conditions.
